Weekend Recap Apr 20th and Weekend Preview Apr 28th

Sorry about the late reports. Life happens. Hwang Hee Chan and Salzburg face Marseille this afternoon on Fox Sports 2 at 3 PM ET.

Also apologize for the lack of time links. I'm looking to redo that somehow with a script but for now it has to fall off as I get away from some messiness.

Koo Ja Cheol-- Out for the season with a knee injury. It was surprising to see him take himself off so quickly as he didn't look in immense pain but with nothing to play for, no surprise for him to play it safe ahead of WC. The club saw it the same way as they let him go back to Korea to recover for what they had termed a couple week injury. We'll see about the severity but he was in better form than most and a lot of worry ahead of World Cup.

Lee Chung Yong-- I'm surprised he hasn't found a way to get his contract cancelled with lots of players coming back. If Wickham and the gang are healthy, he'd drop out of the squad but it sounds like a bit away from LCY losing even his bench spot.

Ki Sung Yueng-- When Ki had the ball, he looked really good with some great passes. Unfortunately, he almost never had the ball as Swansea were just picked apart. While Ki wasn't at fault for the defensive collapse, he wasn't working full speed either in defense. With another difficult matchup this weekend and Swansea sinking closer to the relegation zone, we'll see if Ki starts.

Kwon Chang Hoon-- I had to check repeatedly if KCH was taken off in the first half as he was completely invisible. Then he turned things on in the second half with some great shots and passes and was very unfortunate to not get a PK and got a yellow for a dive. He added a bit of dramatization but it wasn't a dive. Otherwise, he still played it a bit too risky here and there but Dijon are safe and so he should start this weekend.

Suk Hyun Jun-- Continues to be an option off the bench coming on fairly late and again can't make the difference as Troyes remains stuck in relegation zone. I didn't watch the match so can't really comment too much here.

Lee Seung Woo-- Another one I didn't watch but he looked ok in touch videos but remains out of sync with his teammates and looking a bit too eager over all. With Verona looking likely to get relegated, perhaps he gets more and more looks ahead of planning for new season but for now, I think a bench role for him.

Son Heung Min-- Started off brightly and provided some good width as he took advantage of Valencia repeatedly. Unfortunately, his influence waned as fast as his energy level and it was no surprise when he was subbed off even if the subs didn't make much of a difference. A very disappointing loss, and I'm not sure how Poch will try to get his team going as fourth place remains uncertain.
